U.N.P sources, say that, following a government plan,two U.N.P. parliamentarians are due to be seated in the parliament as independent members.They are due to take this step after issuing a special statement in the parliament,within the next few days.
These two parliamentarians have earlier planned to join the government.According to the political sources, they were subsequently asked by the government to function as the independent members for some time, since it would be advantageous for the government.
These sources further say that, the government has decided to grant large amount of money and many other facilities for these two parliamentarians.Issuing a statement in this regards, a senior spokesman of the United National Party has said that, any U.N.P. member who tries to be independent in the parliament, will be severely dealt with according to the party constitution.
