President orders the Chairman and the Board of Directors of the C.P.C. to resign.
The Presidential Secretariat has informed the Chairman and the Board of Directors  of  Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to resign from their posts, due to the crisis situation erupted regarding the importing of substandard diesel.

The President has taken similar action to remove the Chairman and the Board Of Directors of the C.P.C. last year, when a crisis of substandard petrol was erupted.

During a discussion which was held between the President and the higher officials of the corporation and the company, the President has emphasized that, the present Board of Directors including the Chairman, will be removed, and a new Board of Directors will be appointed.
