Ven. Napana Premasiri Thera to be appointed as the New Mahanayaka of Ramangna Sect.
According to the reports, Ven. Napana Premasiri Thera the Chief Incumbent of Vidyasagara Pirivena of Horethuduwa Menikhinna,will be appointed as the New Mahanayaka Thera of Ramangna Maha Niyaya, vacated by Ven. Weweldeniye Medhalankara Thera, who has passed away,few days ago.
Ven. Premasiri Thera, is presently holding the position of Adhikarana Sanghanayaka of Ramangna Maha Nikaya.According to the tradition of Nikaya, during many occasions, it’s the Adhikarana Sangha Nayaka Thera,who will be appointed as the New Mahanayaka Thera.
According to the hierarchy of Ramangna Maha Nikaya, (Sect)there are four Anunayaka positions.These positions are currently being held by Ven.Balangoda Pragnawasa, Ven.Bopitiye Wansananda, Ven.Girambe Ananda, and Ven. Madithiyawela Medhankara Theras. Lanka c news
