Actg.Mahanayake of Ramanna Nikaya - Ven.Napana Premasiri Thera
Ven Napana Premasiri Thera, Chief Incumbent of Vidyasagara Pirivena of Horethuduwa Menikhinna, has been appointed Acting Mahanayaka Thera of the Ramanna Maha Nikaya following the passing away of Ven Weweldeniye Medhalankara Thera.Ven Napana Premasiri Thera was appointed unanimously at a special committee meeting at the Mirigama Divisional Secretariat on Monday (03) said Buddhasasana Commissioner General Chandraprema Gamage.
Ven Premasiri Thera holds the position of Adhikarana Sanghanayaka of Ramanna Maha Nikaya. According to the tradition of the Nikaya, it’s the Adhikarana Sangha Nayaka Thera,who is appointed as the New Mahanayaka Thera.
According to the hierarchy of Ramangna Maha Nikaya, there are four Anunayaka positions.nd they are currently being held by Ven.Balangoda Pragnawasa, Ven.Bopitiye Wansananda, Ven.Girambe Ananda, and Ven. Madithiyawela Medhankara Theras. Info dept
